Fishers dates back to 1872 when Salathiel Fisher divided his land into town lots. The area was originally known as “Fishers Switch”. Communities during this time would start up along railroads and Fishers was no exception. The Fishers Train Station, located in the heart of town, is still the center of town… and still hosts all other city and government buildings.
